Horrific Negligence: Baby Decapitated During Birth at Georgia Hospital

Healthcare providers allegedly delivered a baby wrongly, causing a decapitation, and then attempted to cover it up, according to a lawsuit submitted on Wednesday to a court in the Atlanta region.

The medical group, Southern Regional Medical Center, a physician, numerous nurses, and other defendants are named in the negligence and fraud lawsuit filed in Clayton County, Georgia, according to a statement from the law firm Edmond & Lindsay, LLP.

The complaint claims that the baby’s shoulders got caught in the vaginal canal on July 9 when 20-year-old Jessica Ross was giving birth to a child.

The lawsuit claims that a doctor performed a cesarean section too late and put “excessive tension” on the baby’s head, causing it to separate from the body.

According to the law firm, the doctor did not immediately inform Treveon Isaiah Taylor’s parents about what had occurred.

Instead, it’s claimed that the hospital staff forbade the couple from holding the baby after it passed. According to the statement, they displayed the infant to the parents with its head raised up on top of a tightly wrapped blanket.

The clip below posted on Twitter confirms the news:

The pair also asserts in the lawsuit that staff members pressure them to cremate the remains. They were informed that an autopsy wasn’t necessary.

According to reports, the couple didn’t find out about the decapitation until four days after giving birth.

β€œThis caused immediate, profound emotional and mental anguish for (the plaintiffs) … emotional and mental anguish that they continue to experience and most probably will experience for the rest of their lives,” the complaint says.

More than $10,000 in compensatory and punitive damages are sought in the case.

According to a statement from the hospital system, a spokesperson from Southern Regional Medical Center stated that due to health privacy rules, they cannot discuss the care of particular patients.
