Breaking News: Highway I-5 Between Northern California And Southern Oregon Is Reopened Across Both States

The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that all lanes of I-5 have reopened at Ashland’s Exit 14. Southbound traffic is beginning to back up, so anticipate delays. Chain limits are not in place on I-5’s Siskiyou Summit, but that could change anytime.

Severe storms forced the closure of Interstate 5 between southern Oregon and northern California.

The Oregon Department of Education reported at around 8:00 a.m. on Friday that southbound I-5 was closed between Exit 14 in Ashland and the California border.

According to ODOT, Interstate 5 was shut down between Redding, California and the Oregon state line.

Friday morning at 10:00 local time, the weather had forced the closure of Highway 66 and Highway 273 in Oregon.
