Oregon Police Finds Suspect Hiding In Garbage Can

This wanted felon was apprehended by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon City Police Department early on Tuesday morning. Deputies were summoned to the scene of a pursuit involving a black Honda Civic driven by 33-year-old Tigard resident Cody Warren Mcalary on June 13, 2023, at 12:20 a.m.

In response to the complaint, a vigilant deputy from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office laid down spike strips along Clackamas River Drive, not far from Springwater Road.

After a tense seven-mile pursuit, the suspect’s car was halted near the crossroads of Highway 224 and Goosehollow Drive. Mcalary and his female passenger hurriedly fled, heading towards the nearest residential neighbourhood.

Evidence that Mcalary had broken into other residences, including a Damascus residence on SE Scoria Lane, was uncovered by Oregon City police, who had been pursuing the suspects.

Deputy sheriffs from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrived shortly at the Scoria Lane residence and ensured everyone was okay. They cautiously went from room to room, hoping against hope that they would find the fugitive.

The deputies tracked the scent to the garage, where they found a new oil spill on the floor and some strange damage to a trash can, both raised more questions than they answered.

Against their better judgment, one deputy cautiously lifted the lid, showing the presence of the evasive Mcalary. The deputies were cool under pressure and could make a swift arrest.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon City Police Department’s extraordinary cooperation and ingenuity exemplify their unwavering commitment to public safety. Because of their steadfast dedication and quick response, the suspect was quickly apprehended and no longer poses a threat to the neighbourhood.

The authorities are still investigating the incident and gathering as much information as possible. The government of Clackamas County is serious about preserving peace and defending citizens’ security.

Authorities continue to ask anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues. If we all pitch together to make our neighbourhood more secure and fair, we can all rest easier.
