Washington, DC Police Investigate a F@tal Bat Att@ck

As of last Friday, May 04, 75 people have been slain in the District of Columbia in 2023. There has been a 17% rise in homicides over the previous year.

In Northeast Washington, DC, police are looking for the person or people responsible for the k!lling of a man who was beaten to de@th with a baseball bat. The police have not made any statements about a suspect at this time.

On Friday, May 04, just after midnight, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 3500 block of Hayes Street Northeast in the Deanwood area. According to a watch commander from the MPD’s Sixth District, a male was discovered with blunt force damage to the head. His de@th was ruled an instant loss of life.

Detectives who specialize in hom!cide investigations were sent there. The victim, 47-year-old Marcus Carey, has been named by police. His de@th was mysterious, and no details had been released.
