Unsealed court documents reveal that the six-year-old pupil who shot his teacher in the US earlier this year boasted about the incident, stating, “I shot [her] dead.”
The child is reported to have declared, “I did it” and “I got my mom’s gun last night” while being held following the massacre at a school in Virginia.
Abigail “Abby” Zwerner, his instructor, who lived, filed a $40 million (£31.4 million) lawsuit earlier this year.
The boy is not facing any charges.
Deja Taylor, the boy’s mother, has been charged with the misdemeanor of recklessly leaving a loaded firearm to endanger a kid and the felony child negligence.
She was also charged in June with making a false statement while buying a handgun and illegally consuming a controlled substance while possessing a firearm.
When Ms. Taylor is sentenced in October, she could spend up to 25 years behind bars.
On January 6 at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia, the youngster shot his first-grade teacher, Ms. Zwerner, in the hand and chest with his mother’s revolver.
According to the recently made public documents, Ms. Zwerner told police at the hospital that she saw the youngster standing at his desk when he “pulled a firearm out of his jacket pocket and pointed it” at her.
She questioned him before he fired the 9mm handgun, “What are you doing with that?”
The primary school teacher has had four surgeries.

Heroic School Staffer Saves Lives After Classroom Shooting
After hearing the gunshots, reading specialist Amy Korvac at the school detained the youngster until the police arrived. The youngster allegedly admitted to the shooting at this point, referring to Ms. Zwerner with an expletive.
Ms. Korvac claimed in an Interview with the Washington Post that she entered the classroom following the shooting and discovered the 6-year-old standing next to his desk with his arms crossed and a firearm on the floor next to him.
She claimed to have taken the boy’s hand and led him to the front of the room, where she made a 911 call while using a phone.
“While I was holding him, he told me he had gotten his mom’s gun the night before and put it in his backpack,” Ms Kovac told the paper. “He also told me he only had time to load one bullet.”
Additionally, a kindergarten-age incident involving the same student is included in the court filings. An ex-teacher claimed to have started “choking her to the point she could not breathe” before calling the police.
