Mob Beats A Security Guard To Death Outside A Nightclub In Los Angeles

According to officials, a crowd of people beat a security guard to death near a Los Angeles nightclub on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release on July 30 that a group of men in their 20s confronted the security guard, identified as Daniel Sandifer by relatives to the Los Angeles Times, and kicked and stomped on him after he lost his footing and fell into the street outside the Dragonfly nightclub in Hollywood.

According to the LAPD, the incident took place at 2 a.m. local time and was carried out by seven to eleven offenders. The Los Angeles Police Department has not stated a motive for the assault, only that the reason for the confrontation is “unknown.”

According to the announcement, cops arriving on the scene discovered a male unconscious and not breathing in the street. The Los Angeles Fire Department transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the suspects escaped on foot before officers arrived.

Authorities informed KTLA 5 that they are unsure whether the dispute between Sandifer and the group of males started inside or outside the club. The LAPD did not react immediately to PEOPLE’s request for additional information.

Sandifer’s cousin, Evette Sandifer, informed the Los Angeles Times that he had been a security guard for a few years before his death. The victim was the father of two adolescent kids, as well as the principal caregiver for his grandmother, who is in hospice care.

“I’m sure the club provided some footage,” Evette informed the attack’s magazine. “That’s on them, but nowadays everyone has a cellphone.” We must apprehend some suspects and hold them accountable.”

Brittany Jones, Daniel’s ex-wife and mother of his two young girls, told CBS Los Angeles’ KCAL News in an emotional video message that she is grieved by his death.

“This truly saddens me,” she remarked. “As his children’s mother, this hurts in so many ways. You have no idea. If you have any information, please share it with me so that we can seek justice for Daniel. I’m a fighter, but this here… you’ll be missed.”

Friends, family, and employees gathered outside the club to remember Sandifer, lighting candles near the site. According to one buddy, Sandifer was a “good guy” and a “family-oriented man.”
“Just sad,” said the friend, who declined to identify himself to the news source. “Unfortunate situation, words were exchanged, and they ended up jumping him.”

Another witness at the scene told ABC 7 News that the event was “brutal.”
