Officials announced over the weekend that a teenager who vanished more than eight years ago while walking his dogs in north Houston had been discovered alive. Rudolph “Rudy” Farias, who was 17 years old at the time of his disappearance in March 2015, had vanished despite the fact that his two dogs were eventually found, according to CBS Houston station KHOU-TV.
In a tweet sent on Saturday, the Houston-based nonprofit Texas Center for the Missing, which investigates instances involving missing people, announced Farias had been “located safe.” Although there were no specifics regarding his condition in the tweet, the group stated at the time that Farias had been admitted to a hospital and was making a full recovery.

In the middle of June, the Texas Center for the Missing tweeted a statement regarding Farias.
The organization posted “Have you seen Rudy?” with a digital poster that included a picture of him taken prior to his disappearance as an adolescent and some basic information regarding his abduction.
“Missing Since: March 6, 2015 and Last Seen: Houston, TX,” the tweet continued, adding, “Let’s #BringHimHome!”
Farias was discovered alive, according to comments made to KHOU by Tim Miller, a Houston Police Department officer with the missing people division and the creator of the organization Texas EquuSearch.
The station was also informed by Farias’ aunt that his mother is a “mess” following the return of her son and that she intends to make a public statement shortly. Farias’ relatives told the broadcaster in a previous interview that they were worried he might have been kidnapped and sold.
“He has such a huge heart. He loves with all his heart,” Farias’ mother told KHOU one year after his disappearance. “That’s why we know he wouldn’t just get up and go on his own.”
