According to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, a man who shot at police officers during a traffic check in Northeast Portland last year has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. The focus shifted to him.
According to reports, Matthew Lehi, the accused and convicted individual, is 37. On Monday, he admitted to two counts of attempted murder, one count of unauthorized use of a weapon, and felony possession of a handgun.

On May 6, 2022, a gunfight broke out in a Northeast Portland area, leading to charges against multiple people. According to the official records, Lehi was pulled over for several traffic violations near the intersection of NE 78th Avenue and Mason Street. He lied to the cops and refused to provide his identification.
While being ordered to place his hands over his head, he drew a weapon and fired at one of the cops, “briefly chopping off his head.”
The District Attorney’s office in Multnomah County stated, “Leahey then got out of the car and attempted to shoot police but was unsuccessful, while simultaneously raising his gun to fire at a second officer before being shot.” Leahy was shot in self-defense and critically injured; no officers were hurt.

He went down when blood began to flow from the wound. The police took him to a hospital in Ambulasne, where he was treated, and then turned him over to the courts once he had recovered.
At this point, all of the evidence against him has been established. She served her 15 years in imprisonment without delay.
