On Wednesday, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office revealed that a man who struck and seriously injured a 72-year-old woman with his automobile last year had been sentenced to more than seven years in prison.

The district attorney’s office said Tyler Fetterhoff, 35, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and a felony and was sentenced to 90 months in prison without the possibility of early release. In 2011, Fetterhoff was found guilty of aggravated assault and driving under the influence of alcohol following a severe car accident.

Around 7:15 p.m. On July 7, 2022, Fetterhoff was driving east on Barnes Road. Only then near St. Vincent’s Hospital when he stopped the signal at the red light and Tyler ran his car and hit the pedestrian crossing the road.
According to officials, the impact of the collision was so strong that the woman who was allegedly hit by the vehicle was thrown into the air, and the contents of the bag she was holding were scattered on the road. The event left the woman with several injuries, the worst of which required the amputation of her right leg.βThe suspect took the opportunity to flee but left the victim writhing on the ground.

Because the incident was so significant that even there the horrified onlookers and medical personnel ran to the aid of the injured woman and became an example of humanity, the defendant then drove to an acquaintance’s home, where he abandoned his damaged car and took another ride from northwest Portland and went home,” according to the DA’s office.
