On Tuesday, May 30,Β evening, a fire that started in the materials contained within a hopper at an industrial building in Portland escalated into a fire requiringΒ two alarms.
According to a tweet posted by Portland Fire & Rescue, smoke was seen billowing out of two levels of the structure on three different sides in the 2700 block of NW Industrial Street.

The crews’ ability to enter the land was hindered down due to the presence of an outer fence. The company of a propane tank with a capacity of one thousand gallons on the exterior of the building was a cause for concern for the fire department.
