The Cannon Beach Police Department reports that early Sunday morning, a body was discovered along the tideline on Tolovana Beach. Preliminary evidence suggests that the victim is a missing 18-year-old student from Mountainside High School who went missing on May 12.
The Cannon Beach Police Department updated its Facebook at approximately 3:30 p.m. “Please continue to keep the family and friends in your thoughts and prayers,” the police wrote.
Jacob Stokes, a senior at Mountainside High School, was the 18-year-old who went missing on May 16.
Four people were reported missing on May 12 by the Cannon Beach Fire District as they were ocean wading. Only two made it back inside, one required rescue, and the third disappeared. BSD verified that they were indeed 18-year-old high school students.
When asked about Stokes, Corsetti said he was a “friend to many.” He competed in cross country and track and field and intended to enroll at Oregon State University in the upcoming fall.
