An Ex-Convict Sh0t and K!lled in Northeast D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the 30-year-old man who was sh0t and k!lled in Northeast DC earlier this week had a lengthy cr!minal record and had just served time in j@il on a federal weapons charge.

Hopkins, a resident of Northeast DC, was located by police in the 3800 block of Jay Street NE at about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. He had been sh0t numerous times. After first responders summoned DC Fire and Emergency Medical Service, Hopkins was declared de@d at the scene.

Hopkins, who was @rrested in connection with dr*g and weapon cr!mes, was sentenced to five years in federal pris0n in 2018, according to police records. Hopkins was allegedly detained in the 1900 block of West Virginia Avenue NE in DC in October 2017 by federal agents after he and another suspect supplied cr@ck coc@ine to an undercover MPD officer.

When he was taken into custody, the police discovered more cr@ck coc@ine and a firearm concealed in his waistband. Officials noted that Hopkins was on pre-trial release because he had been convicted of a felony dr*g charge.
