Salem police say that a 53-year-old woman riding her bike and hitting a pickup truck died at a Salem hospital on Tuesday afternoon, 28 March 2023.
Authorities say Marganne Allen was seriously hurt when her bike crashed into a pickup truck driven by 37-year-old Samuel Landis at Southeast Leslie Street and High Street.
Investigators say that Allen was riding her bike south on High Street when Landis crossed the intersection going east on Leslie Street and “crossed the bicyclist’s path of travel.”

Investigators say Landis was uninjured and remained on the scene. The intersection was closed for four hours.
