According to police, a person was slain on Saturday night while waiting for a bus on Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. and Taylor Street.
Around 6:25 p.m., according to investigators, a car turned over on the sidewalk, entered a bus stop, and struck a passenger there.
The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is conducting an investigation, thus Cesar Chavez is closed between Yamhill and Salmon Streets in front of the Belmont Library.

This is the city’s 36th traffic fatality of the year and its fifth in the last ten days.
According to the police, the car’s driver was unharmed and stayed at the site.
