A Friday morning (23 June) gunshot and car accident in northeast Portland resulted in the death of one individual and the hospitalization of another. North Precinct officers were in the vicinity of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard at 2:20 a.m. when they heard gunfire nearby, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Moments later, according to the PPB, officers discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a pole near the intersection of Northeast Broadway and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard. After investigating the collision, officers discovered the driver of the vehicle deceased and the passenger with gunfire wounds.

Chavez Boulevard are all blocked between Northeast 38th and Northeast 42nd Avenues, Northeast Hancock Street and Northeast Senate Street during the investigation. At the present time, no arrests have been made.
