Sunday, May 28, morning in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Southeast Portland, a motorcyclist was killed, and their passenger was taken to the hospital following a collision with a pickup truck.

A crash was reported at 1:09 a.m. on Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 139th Avenue, prompting officers’ response from the East Precinct.

The motorcyclist was found dead when they arrived. According to the Portland Police Bureau, the motorcycle’s passenger suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
According to a press release from the Portland Authorities Bureau, the driver of the pickup vehicle involved in the incident stayed at the site and assisted authorities. Fortunately, nobody in the pickup truck was hurt.
