Entek, a company in Oregon that makes parts for batteries, plans to invest $1.5 billion in a new manufacturing campus in Indiana and create 642 jobs by the end of 2027, Officials announced on Tuesday, 21 March 2023.
The company said that the investment would help Indiana’s growing electric vehicle industry. Entek is a company based in Lebanon that makes separators for lithium-ion batteries.
According to the news press release, Four buildings totaling 1.4 million square feet are planned for the project in the Vigo County Industrial Park in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Entek’s CEO, Larry Keith, said the city was chosen because it had land and a good community.
βWe chose Terre Haute for many reasons including the excellent workforce opportunity, a nearly shovel ready construction site with available utilities located in an industrial park, excellent vocational education, and the business-friendly incentives from both the state and local governments,β Keith said in a news release.
βThis decision cements Indianaβs leadership in the electric vehicle supply chain sector,β Gov. Eric Holcomb said.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. will give up to $8 million in tax credits and up to $300,000 in training grants if the board of directors agrees. The IEDC has also promised up to $5.4 million in other grants and payments based on how well its projects do.
