Both men were killed when their Mercedes overturned and landed on its roof on Water Avenue, just below the bridge. For several hours, the police investigation forced the closure of both lanes of Water Avenue. By 8 a.m., the roads were open again.
No information about the men’s ages or identities has been made public. The tragic collision may have been exacerbated by the driver’s excessive speed and alcohol consumption. There were no other automobiles involved, and only one person was hurt.
