A motorcyclist in Portland has died over a month after an accident left him hospitalized. Police say that on Thursday, May 25, Steven McQueen, 54, who was critically injured in a car accident on April 30, passed away in the hospital. This was the 23rd fatal crash in Portland this year, according to PPB, and four involved motorcyclists.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Southeast Foster Road and Southeast 65th Avenue at approximately 12:45 a.m. When police came, they discovered McQueen in critical condition. An ambulance was called to transport him there. The male driver of the 2022 Kia Soul, according to the police, was unharmed in the collision and stayed at the scene to help with the investigation.
It has been determined that Kia’s driver was heading west on SE Foster Road before turning south onto SE 65th Ave. when the eastbound motorcycle collided with the car’s passenger side. The motorcycle McQueen was riding, according to the police, did not have a functioning headlight. There were no detentions or citations.
