Police Chase and Kill Gunman in Allen, Texas Mall Shooting – Body Cam Video Shows

Texas police shared a video from an officer’s body camera on Wednesday (28 June). It shows the officer politely telling children to put on their seat belts just before he ran after and killed a mass shooter.

Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey commended his officer for taking decisive action on May 6 when gunfire erupted at Allen Premium Outlets during an attack in which eight people were slain before the gunman was shot and killed.

Harvey said in a statement –

β€œThis video shows how quickly a routine interaction with the public turned into a life-and-death situation.”

β€œThe officer recognized the danger, ran toward the gunfire and neutralized the threat β€” and for his actions, the Allen community is forever grateful.”

The video, which was released Tuesday after a grand jury cleared the officer of any wrongdoing, revealed that he was chatting with children and a woman in the parking lot of the mall when gunshots abruptly rang out.

Prior to the gunshots, the officer could be heard saying –

“Make sure you wear your seat belts when Mommy’s driving … you be good.”
