Portland Police Identify Woman Killed in Five-vehicle Collision

On Tuesday (27 June), the Portland Police Department was able to identify the woman who passed away in a collision that also injured three other individuals. An officer working the night shift in Gresham saw a vehicle that may have been connected to a series of armed robberies just after 6 o’clock on Sunday evening.

According to the authorities, a Gresham officer attempted to get behind the automobile at NE 181st and Glisan, but the driver drove off and caused a crash involving five cars, which ultimately led to the death of a woman named Jennifer Leigh Parise, who was 40 years old.

Alcohol impairment and excessive speeding are both factors that detectives from the Portland Police Bureau believe contributed to the deadly collision.

Do you know that a Black food truck owner in Oregon who alleges he incurred “severe” injuries in a vicious attack by an N-word-yelling assailant has hired a lawyer to look into the “sufficiency of the government’s response” after he was allegedly left to drive himself to the hospital:

Nathaniel Franklin Jr., 61 years old, was taken into custody and transported to the Gresham Police Department after being named as the suspect. He is now being charged with manslaughter in the first degree, assault in the second degree, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving while his license is suspended.

The investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing. If you have any information regarding this investigation, please email the Portland Police Department at [email protected].
