Oregon’s Governor, Tina Kotek, has been a talking point ever since she started attending community events. Since June is Pride Month in the United States, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has declared that the state would be welcoming and accepting of the LGBTQ community.
She recently tweeted a video in which she sent her best wishes to the LGBTQ+ community. She has also made it quite obvious that there is nothing to be ashamed of or fearful of, and that you should take pleasure in your decisions. Below is the complete video transcript:

There is opposition against the LGBTQ community everywhere, not only in the United States. The death penalty has been proclaimed for anyone convicted of Homosexual activity in certain nations. The United States of America, however, has no such restrictions and strongly backs this group. There’s really no problem with someone being gay.
Many prominent public figures have said unequivocally that they are gay and have no regrets about their sexual orientation. Progress has been made toward full equality and acceptance for the LGBTQ community in the United States. Although problems still exist, people are generally more accepting and helpful. People of the LGBTQ community battled for and won the right to legally marry their partners of the same gender. Many states have passed anti-discrimination legislation to safeguard the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people.

The rise of visibility and representation in media, politics, and business has contributed to a more compassionate and understanding society. Transgender persons and people of color in particular continue to be disproportionately affected by discrimination, violence, and poor health outcomes in the community. Equal rights, access to healthcare, and full social participation cannot be achieved without sustained, concerted work.
