On Monday, May 01, a pedestrian was str*ck and k!lled on southbound Interstate 295. Police in Washington, DC, are looking into the incident. As of 6 a.m., the traffic investigation forced the closure of all southbound lanes of I-295. Nearly an hour before 8 o’clock, all lanes reopened.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department said the collision occurred at about 6 a.m. The reasons for the accident are yet unknown. Drivers were directed to use Exit 1 (Laboratory Road) on Monday. Investigators from the DC Police Department, DC Fire, EMS, and the DC Department of Transportation were also present.
The identity of the victim is yet unknown. The person’s age, name, and gender are all included. It is unclear from the police report whether or not the driver of the hitting car remained at the site. Even though all lanes are now open, there may still be some delays.
