The Percy Jackson and the Olympians adaptation being worked on by Disney+ is expected to be even better than the Logan Lerman movies.
We don’t want to sound too optimistic, but we’re really looking forward to seeing Camp Half-Blood. One reason is that a TV program looks like a good fit for the Rick Riordan series, in which the protagonists explore updated versions of classic mythology. Also? Instead of using angsty adolescent actors, they opted for younger actors.
Riordan’s involvement with this rendition of Percy Jackson is significantly more than in the 2010 picture. In 2020, he wrote, “They should censor the entire thing.” Only two hours of mindless screen time. Soon, we’ll have it fixed. Percy Jackson Release Date
On December 20, 2023, Disney+ will premiere the first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. There will be eight episodes in the first season, and each will be between 45 and 60 minutes long. When it’s available, you can click the button below to watch Percy Jackson and the Olympians:
During a presentation at D23 in September 2022, while work on the first season was still underway, we were treated to a surprise teaser. This teaser provides us our first glimpse at Percy Jackson as he will be portrayed by Walker Scobell in the next film. Teaser footage of Camp Half-Blood and its resident demigods in action is intercut with his narration of the novel’s opening lines.
On August 18, 2023, a new web teaser was released, offering fans more footage from the highly awaited series and confirming the premiere date. Disney released the series’ official teaser poster on July 14.

Disney+ also debuted character posters for the show’s main three actors at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. New photos and a new poster for the show followed in September 2023. Additionally, on September 19, a new trailer for Percy Jackson was published, which you can check out below:
Who Plays the Cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians?
In the world of Percy Jackson, Walker Scobell is on a roll of starring roles. Before playing Percy Jackson in the Disney+ adaption of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, he played Adam in The Adam Project (actually one of two Adams with Ryan Reynolds).
On his website, Riordan made the casting announcement. In his own words, “I got to break the news to Walker directly via Zoom back on Jan. 28 that he had been picked for the position,” and “it was a fantastic moment that made me realize for the first time: Okay, this is real. All the effort and time spent waiting paid off with this. The results of this endeavor will blow your mind.
Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase were cast for Percy Jackson (Riordan’s Version) four months later. On May 5, the official Percy Jackson series Twitter revealed that Empire’s Leah Sava Jeffries and Cheaper by the Dozen’s Aryan Simhadri had joined the already confirmed three for the upcoming Disney+ series.
Riordan announced the completed three on his blog and assured followers that they “will do you proud.” Hermes, whose son Luke is a… huge deal in the first book, is played by Mr. Hamilton himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Let me add that.
During the first week of filming for Percy Jackson in Vancouver last month, Variety announced five additional cast members, including fan-favorite comedians Jason Mantzoukas and Megan Mullally for the Greek chorus. Actor Jason Mantzoukas (Big Mouth, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will portray Dionysus, aka Mr. D, the camp counselor for Camp Half-Blood, while actress Megan Mullally (Will & Grace, Party Down) will play Alecto, aka Mrs. Dodds, a math teacher who is one of the three Furies loyal to Hades.
Virginia Kull (Super Pumped), Glynn Turman (Women of the Movement), and Timm Sharp (Percy’s stepfather) also star in the Riordan-approved adaptation as Percy’s mother and Chiron (Mr. Burner), respectively. The deity of the underworld, Hades, will be played by Industry’s Jay Duplass, and the god of blacksmiths, Hephaestus, will be played by Psych’s Timothy Omundsen.
