For the record, I’m calling 2021 Olivia Rodrigo’s MF year, and nothing can stop her. Olivia became a minor celebrity overnight when she released the blockbuster hit tune “Drivers License” earlier this year.
Therefore, it is not surprising that Olivia has just released her debut album, Sour, today, while she still has the media’s and the internet’s undivided attention. When Did Sour Come Out?
On May 21 at 12:01 AM, local time, Sour by Olivia Rodrigo was made available to the public. This meant that the album would be available for streaming and downloading around the world at midnight local time on the release date.
In other words, the album was immediately available for purchase and listening by persons in New Zealand, and it became available in all other time zones throughout the course of the following 24 hours.

Where Do the Lyrics Take Us?
We all know that the age of 17 is a fascinating moment in anyone’s life, and Olivia told The Face that she created most of the songs on Sour at that age.
She began writing on the album at a “really strange age where you’re figuring out so many things: how you want to be treated, love and heartbreak, your place in the world, and your relationships with other people,” as Olivia put it.
I’m having a hard time with them all, therefore the [sour]. I didn’t write it with the benefit of hindsight. It accurately portrays how I felt at the time. I needed to get my feelings out on paper, so I wrote those tunes.
Who Collaborated With Olivia on the Album?
When it came to music production and songwriting, Olivia only ever collaborated with Dan Nigro, who has worked with the likes of Conan Gray, Lewis Capaldi, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sky Ferriera, and Zella Day.
After discovering a video of Olivia singing on Instagram, Dan messaged her directly through the Direct Messages feature. Since then, the two have been working together to create fantastic music.

How Olivia Rodrigo Became a Gen Z Icon?
Olivia Rodrigo is a gifted musician who writes songs with genuine feelings. On February 20, 2003, she entered the world in California. Her parents, Ronald and Sophia Rodrigo are her biological parents. Sophia, a schoolteacher of German and Irish background, and Ronald, a therapist of Filipino descent, are married.
Rodrigo’s upbringing was spent in Temecula. She showed an interest in music as early as kindergarten and started taking lessons. By the time she was five years old, she was already performing in talent showcases. Rodrigo began his musical career at the young age of four.
At the age of six, she began performing in school plays at both Lisa J. Mails Elementary and Dorothy McElhinney Middle. Rodrigo performed in school plays and tried out for real acting gigs.
The trip to Los Angeles was paid for by her parents. They encouraged Rodrigo to continue trying even if she had not been chosen. At age 9, Rodrigo started studying the piano. She claims that she first detested the piano, but eventually came to value its contribution to her songs. Even before she had a lover, Rodrigo told “People” that most of her songs were about heartbreak.
She picked up the guitar at the tender age of 12 and continued to play for several years. It wasn’t until the latter part of 2016 that she was cast as Paige Olvera on “Bizaardvark.”
In the film, she co-starred with her pal Madison Hu. She had to drop out of school and go to Los Angeles with her family so she could focus on her acting career.
