It goes on to say, “Since his diagnosis in 2019, he has chosen to endure his battle in private, undergoing a number of difficult treatments while serving as the head of several significant institutions in the fields of fashion, art, and culture.”
In describing his work ethic, it is said that “Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design.”
