Oregon Basketball Recruiting: Five-star Pf Kwame Evans Jr. Commits To Ducks Over Kentucky, Arizona And Auburn (Latest News)

Evans is one of the finest prospects in the Class of 2023. Evans is regarded as the No. 3 power forward in his class and is listed as the No. 7 prospect overall by 247Sports.

Evans is a 6-foot-9, 200-pound athletic four with good ball skills who can defend smaller guards and make 3-pointers.

He is the No. 2 ranked Oregon commitment in the 247Sports era, trailing only 2018 center Bol Bol.

In the 2023 recruiting class for Oregon, Evans joins four-star point guard Jackson Shelstad as head coach Dana Altman, in his 13th season, builds on a successful recent recruiting streak.

Evans is from Baltimore, although he represents Montverde Academy in Florida. He competes on the summer circuit for Team Durant. Because of his versatility, 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein refers to him as a "combo forward."

Cook had formerly committed to the Ducks before he changed his mind on June 30. Travis Branham of 247Sports, however, stated that Evans and Cook are enthusiastic about teaming up at the next level.

Kelly Ware, a five-star center who concluded the 2022 recruiting cycle rated No. 7 in his class, is welcomed by the Ducks to their 2022–23 squad.
