Emeralds Take First Game Of The Series Against Hillsboro (Latest News)

The Emeralds defeat the Hillsboro Hops at home 5-4 to extend their winning streak.

At P.K. Park, Nick Swiney started the game on the mound. In his first two innings, he allowed two hits, four runs, five walks, and three strikeouts.

Tonight, Nick Morreale was given the victory after pitching one inning while only allowing one hit and striking out one.

Hillsboro got on the board in the second inning when center fielder Wilderd Patino scored for the Hops after designated hitter Danny Oriente grounded out to third.

The Emeralds owned the remainder of the evening. In the fourth inning, Robert Emery doubled on a fly ball to center field, cutting the Hops' advantage to one.

In the seventh inning, the fifth and game-winning run was scored. Vaun Brown was brought in after Jairo Pomares hit on a fly ball to right field.
