We work to get every fact right. When we make a mistake, we correct it quickly and openly.
- Factual errors such as a wrong name, date, number or claim are fixed in the story, and a note at the end says what changed and when. For example: Correction, Oct. 20, 2026: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong date for the council vote. It was Oct. 14.
- Updates that add new information are marked “Update” with the date.
- Small fixes to spelling or grammar that do not change the meaning are made without a note.
- We do not quietly delete stories. If a story has to be removed, for example for legal reasons, we say so.
To report an error, email newsroom[at]focushillsboro[dot]com with the link to the story and what is wrong. We aim to respond within two business days.
