Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Pedestrian Dead in Portland

In Portland, a man pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a lorry.

At around 8:00 BST along Portland Beach Road, the 30-year-old male passed away.

Major traffic delays resulted from Dorset Police closing the route for more than four hours to ensure the safety of the incident.

Sgt. Richard Stroud stated that Dorset Police would be looking into the incident and that his thoughts were with the man’s family.

Sgt Stroud added: “We are aware that the road closure had an immense impact on everyone in the area and I am very grateful for everyone’s patience while it was necessary to stay in place to enable us to gather all required evidence.”
