A man was hit by a car and k!lled, and the driver fled the scene early on Sunday morning in northeast Portland. Police were called to a collision involving a pedestrian at Northeast 60th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street at around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday. They discovered a man deceased when they got there.
According to police, the motorist fled the scene and was never located. They made no mention of the suspect or the suspect car in their press release.
In the 16 years that Molly Baumann has resided in the area, she has spent two of those years working at a nearby food store. While taking her pet for a walk in the middle of the night, she came across the scene.
The tweet below confirms the news:

I personally didn’t see the body, but I was told it was in a corner location in front of the bar, according to Baumann. The entire area was closed off. No route could be found.
Jalen Walker told a comparable tale. He noticed the flashing lights and had to change the direction of his late-night stroll.
“It’s unfortunate, but they need to keep trying or doing more to improve,” Walker added. People just rush through here, but the police can’t be everywhere at once.
Numerous other neighbors were spoken to by FOX 12 but declined to be filmed. They claimed to have witnessed automobiles speeding through the intersection, driving up on curbs, and nearly colliding with businesses.
It serves as yet another illustration for Baumann of how unsafe she and her three girls feel the neighborhood has become.
“I’ve raised my three daughters here in this neighborhood,” she claimed. Since TriMet is so unsafe, I don’t even really allow them to ride it anymore.
