After colliding with an SUV on Friday night, a motorcycle rider died.

When Portland police and EMS arrived at the scene of the incident at the junction of Northeast Halsey Street and 111th Avenue at around 7:15 p.m., the motorcycle rider had already passed away. According to authorities, the SUV’s driver stayed on the site and is helping with the investigation.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to email crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov and mention case number 23-198077, according to the police.

The motorcycle is the 43rd fatality from a car accident in Portland so far this year.
