Driver Strikes, K!lls Pedestrian on I-5 in NE Portland

The Portland Police Bureau reports that a motorist struck and k!lled a pedestrian on the northbound I-5 in NE Portland on Sunday night. Officers were dispatched to the scene of a pedestrian hit by a car on the northbound I-5 at Northeast Weidler Street at 10:41 p.m.

When the police arrived, they discovered the subject had passed away. According to authorities, the driver stayed at the site and is helping with the investigation.

While detectives examine the scene and gather evidence, northbound I-5 will be closed for the duration of the investigation, and all traffic will be detoured onto eastbound I-84. To get away from the region, motorists can alternatively travel north on I-405.
