Do you know that federal prosecutors in Oregon say a man is facing federal charges after he assaulted a courthouse security officer, who then shot him? The U.S. District Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon charged 39-year-old Jett Avery Thomas with attacking a government employee and causing bodily harm:

Carrillo was found nearby by police and described as a transient. Witnesses and the boy’s family allege that Carrillo acted “strangely” in the area, was ordered to leave, returned, and then abducted the boy. Carillo told police he attempted to abduct the infant because he “believed the child was having a medical emergency.”

Numerous media outlets have reported on the story, and their coverage has been widely shared online –

As police attempted to arrest Carrillo, he struck an officer. Carrillo was arrested for Attempted Kidnapping II, Harassment, and Assault on a Public Safety Officer and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.
