The Lloyd District in Northeast Portland was the scene of a fatal gunshot on Friday night (23 June), according to police. Just after 9:45 p.m., officers from the Portland Police Bureau responded to a complaint of a shooting at Northeast 6th Avenue and Northeast Holladay Street.
The police found a wounded man at the site. According to PPB, officers administered trauma first aid and summoned emergency medical services, but the victim passed away before their arrival. Before police arrived, the assailant had fled the scene, and no arrests have been made.
The PPB’s homicide unit investigated the crime site. Police sealed down Northeast Holladay between Northeast MLK Boulevard and Northeast 7th during the investigation. Between Northeast Hassalo Street and Northeast Pacific Street, Northeast 6th was closed.

TriMet also reported that the MAX Blue, Green, and Red lines were disrupted in the vicinity of the Oregon Convention Center, southwest of the shooting site, due to police activity. The agency announced that shuttle buses will instead serve the stations between the convention center and the Hollywood transit center.

According to PPB data collected through the end of May, at least 443 shootings have occurred in Portland this year. This is believed to be the 39th homicide to which the agency has responded.
