Overweight Truck Damages Adidas Pedestrian Bridge

Traffic was briefly halted on Greeley Avenue in North Portland on Friday, June 02, at about 1 p.m. when a truck hauling an industrial-sized tank scraped the bottom of a pedestrian footbridge connecting  Adidas’ North American headquarters.

According to reports, an eyewitness said the truck got stopped under the bridge because its enormous load couldn’t get under it.

According to Dylan Rivera, a spokesman for the Portland Bureau of Transportation, no public property was destroyed in the incident and the bridge is privately owned.

“Someone at the scene notified our dispatchers of this incident,” Rivera said. “We don’t know of any current hazard in the right of way or damage to public property.”
