Today marked the beginning of construction on a brand-new, 55,000-square-foot building for Lane Community College. This is part of a revitalized push to back LCC’s trade courses.
The building we are breaking ground on today is called the Industrial and trades center, and it has been in the works for three years.

The construction of the $50 million structure began after voters approved a bond issue in May of 2020.
“We’re going to be marrying technology with the construction trades, with advanced manufacturing and with other fabrication programs and other programs as well in order to train the next generation of tradespeople,” says LCC President Dr. Stephanie Bulger.
In the next weeks, construction will commence. The building should be finished by the end of the year, according to LCC’s projections.
