Heavy Rains Led to Some Flooding in the Southwest Portland

Some low-lying areas in the Portland metropolitan region were flooded due to the recent heavy rainfall. A homeowner’s driveway was eroded, and a few inches of water was left in the basement after flooding the 10900 block of SW 61st.

At first, PF&R promised that sandbags would be made available to anybody in the region who requested them. However, the City of Tigard and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue was able to provide them with sandbags after they abandoned the original plan due to the limited nature of the water. Nobody has had to leave their houses because of this.
