A 26-year-old Man Has P@ssed Away While Incarcerated at Portland’s Inverness J@il

On Tuesday, May 02Β morning, a 26-year-old inmate at the Inverness J@il in Northeast Portland was discovered unconscious in his cell.

In a statement released Thursday, May 04,Β  the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies attempted to revive Donovan Anthony Wood after discovering him in the jail at 12:30 a.m., but paramedics declared him de@d.

According to the statement, the cause of de@th is now being investigated by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office.

After reportedly beating a guy with a pick ax, attempting su*cide by slashing his neck, and setting fire to his sister’s house in Northwest Portland, k!lling his sister’s cat, Wood was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on December 20.

Here’s what you need to know now about recent events in Portland:

Court documents reveal that on December 29th, Wood entered a not-guiltyΒ plea to nine felony counts, including attempted mu*der, first-degree assault, and first-degree arson.

A probable cause affidavit states that Wood’s sister informed authorities of her suspicion that her brother was using methamphetamine.
