A man was sh0t by a police officer on Monday morning,ย 1 April 2023, in Salem, who was trying to take him into custody.
The guy was being cared for at Salem Health, the Salem Police Department said. Andrew Erling Kjostad, 34, was named by police as the man on Tuesday morning, 2 April 2023, but they did not say anything about his health then.
Police say that Kjostad was wanted for shooting at a police car from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday. None of the cops were hurt.

The shooting on Monday morning is being looked into by the Oregon State Police and the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
