Overnight Fire Leaves Four Homeless in Southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — At least four people are without a residence to live after a fire broke out in a trailer and mobile home park in Southeast Portland overnight, officials said on Tuesday, 2 May 2023.

Around 1:15 a.m., a fire started near Southeast Harney Street and Southeast 82nd Avenue. When Portland Fire & Rescue got there, a single motorhome was already on fire, and they said the fire finally spread to a nearby 5th-wheel camper trailer.

Some workers worked to extinguish the fire, while others helped people who were hurt. It was decided that the “superficial” burns that four people got were not life-threatening.

Breaking News: Firefighters were called to battle a fire at a closed bar in North Portland on Wednesday night, 19 April 2023.

Officials said that three of the four people who were burnt were taken to a hospital to get more care, while the fourth person refused to go to the hospital.

The Red Cross helped people who had to move to find temporary places to stay.

PF&R told KOIN 6 that the fire had been put out and a probe was happening.
