A woman who was sh0t and k!lled in Portland last month was laid to rest on Sunday, 23 April 2023, in her hometown cemetery in southern Oregon. Her 17-year-old son, who is accused of killing her, is still being held in a Multnomah County juvenile detention center.
According to Oregon Live, Police and family members say that Connie Campagna-Martinez, 48, was working in construction as a way to start over after being released from prison. On March 31, she was shot in an apartment given by her boss in the Lents neighborhood.
Standing Bear Campagna, the youngest of Campagna-Martinez’s five children, was caught on April 8 in Chiloquin, the small town where his mother grew up, and charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
At the time, Campagna-Martinez’s grandma, Patty Miske, said that the mother and son were living together in Portland.

“She was trying to repair that relationship, but he had a deep anger,” said Miske, 88. “She loved her kids.”
Standing Bear Campagna is being charged in Juvenile Court, where almost all records are hidden. Police and lawyers haven’t said much about the murder.

Court records show that Campagna-Martinez had been arrested many times in her life on drug and theft charges. She also spent almost seven years in federal jail for illegally having a gun and then getting away from home detention. In 2021, she was set free.
Miske, who raised Campagna-Martinez and used to be a Methodist preacher, said that Portland was a real chance for her granddaughter to turn things around. Miske said that Campagna-Martinez was from the Klamath Tribes and that her boss at the construction company, where she was the only woman on her crew, gave her good marks.
