In Old Town on April 18, a woman is suspected of pushing a 79-year-old man to the ground “for no reason,” according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Officer David Baer of the Portland Police Department told KOIN 6 that on Tuesday, April 18, at 1:50 p.m., Rebekah Arias, 27, pushed the victim “without any provocation” as he stood on the sidewalk at the corner of 5th Avenue and Everett Street.
“Witnesses to the assault followed the suspect until officers arrived, and she was arrested,” Baer said. The PPB Central Precinct NRT Bike Squad posted a video of the arrest on its Instagram account.

A 79-year-old man was “shoved down for no reason,” as PPB said on Instagram. The fourth-degree assault was the charge that landed Arias in the Multnomah County J@il. According to PPB, the victim’s injuries were not severe enough for hospitalization.
