Breaking News: 4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Oregon Coast

The United States Geological Survey says there was an earthquake off the coast of Oregon early on Sunday morning, 9 April 2023.

The 4.0 quake was felt at 8:42 a.m. along the Juan de Fuca Plate, about 271 miles off the coast of Yachats, Oregon.

According to the USGS, the second earthquake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, was recorded off the Oregon coast.
