The United States Geological Survey says there was an earthquake off the coast of Oregon early on Sunday morning, 9 April 2023.
The 4.0 quake was felt at 8:42 a.m. along the Juan de Fuca Plate, about 271 miles off the coast of Yachats, Oregon.
Along the plate, there have been quakes like these in the past few months, including a 4.3 in March.
There was no tsunami warning.
Several days ago, two earthquakes occurred off the coast of Oregon, causing residents to feel uneasy. The first earthquake, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake, occurred off the coast of Oregon west of Coos Bay.
According to the USGS, the second earthquake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, was recorded off the Oregon coast.
