PORTLAND, Ore.– A 4.0 magnitude earthquake was reported off the coast of Oregon, west of Coos Bay, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake was reported to have occurred at 9:53 P.M. on March 26, 2023. No immediate reports of damage or injuries due to the earthquake have occurred.
The USGS stated that the earthquake occurred at 9:53 p.m. and was located at a depth of 6 kilometers.

The USGS notes that earthquakes of this size are not uncommon in the region, which is part of the Cascadia Subduction Zone, where the Juan de Fuca plate is being subducted beneath the North American plate.
