Flower lovers will have to wait a little longer this year because the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn won’t start until later. This is because winter weather is still around.
Even though the festival season has been pushed back, tickets go on sale on Wednesday, 15 March 2023, and people can look forward to activities that had to be cut back because of the pandemic.
The festival is a tradition in the Willamette Valley. It usually starts in the middle of March, when the flowers are in full bloom, but this year it will start on March 24 and go through April 30.
Tickets for the festival can only be bought online, which started with the pandemic. Season tickets and day tickets are available. Day tickets let you come and go at different times during the day.
People can come in as early as 5 a.m. to see the sunrise if they choose the sunrise entry option. The website says that day passes cost $30 and season passes cost $55. Free for kids under 12 years old.
A soft opening week is planned for March 17–23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it’s free. The only catch is that tulips may or may not be in bloom. Hot air balloons take to the air during the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival on April 15, 2022, in Woodburn, Oregon. At the tulip festival, hot air balloons will be back.

The tulip festival will have hot air balloons again this year. Different vendors run the balloons, and they can only go up if it doesn’t rain and the wind speed is less than eight miles per hour. The website said that balloons are not guaranteed to be on the farm at any given date and time.
