Temporarily Shutdown Part Of I-435: A portion of I-435 was closed as authorities investigated a fatal crash. A man’s body was discovered inside a smashed car near Interstate 435 in Johnson County on Thursday afternoon, and police believe the incident may have been the result of road rage.
Temporarily Shutdown Part Of I-435 As A Result Of The Death Investigation
Master Police Officer Danny Chavez of the Lenexa police department said in a statement that officers were initially summoned to the scene about 5:45 a.m. after receiving a complaint of a car off the roadway that had struck a light post.
State of Kansas Highway Patrol officers arrived to help with the incident. According to the police report, the driver and only passenger of a white Jeep Grand Cherokee had been shot.

On Thursday night, Chavez said investigators still didn’t know what led up to the gunshot and collision. The situation was being investigated as a death by the Lenexa Police Department.

I-435 was partially closed for the duration of the inquiry, which ended on Thursday afternoon. Between 95th Street and the K-10 junction, police were performing these tasks to improve traffic flow for southbound drivers.
