“I’m delighted my colleagues were able to reach a compromise, and I’m excited to begin delivering on the promises we made to the American people,” Chavez-DeRemer said. “Although it took longer than planned, I’m glad my colleagues were able to reach a consensus.”

“I am looking forward to working with my colleagues, on both sides of the aisle, to find common ground so that we can develop a booming economy, improve public safety, help our rural areas, increase educational opportunities, and plenty of other things.

I have faith that we can find a way out of this impasse and avoid the practice of casting potential solutions overboard in the name of partisan politics. I am willing to collaborate with anyone who is interested in producing results that are to the advantage of residents of Oregon and the rest of the United States.

Chavez-DeRemer has served as the Mayor of Happy Valley, and she and her husband of 31 years, as well as their twin daughters, continue to make their home there.
