Snap Participants Who Lost Food Due to Weather-Related Power Disruptions May Get Replacements
Residents of Oregon who have lost food that they had previously purchased with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits as a result of recent power outages caused by windstorms and ice storms are encouraged to submit a request for replacement benefits to the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS).

It is possible for households who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and has lost food or disposed of food because it was dangerous to consume as a result of these incidents to make a request for replacement benefits to cover the cost of the food that was lost. They have the option of requesting that their food benefits be replaced with a sum equivalent to one month’s worth of the typical benefit amount for the household.
