A Hillsboro Man Is Accused Of Killing A Guy In Forest Grove

On Tuesday, September 20, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office charged David Baynes with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that took place the previous evening in Forest Grove.

According to the documents filed with the court, Deputy District Attorney Jeff Lebowski made a motion to have the contents of the probable cause affidavit, in this case, kept confidential on the grounds that “it is a portion of an ongoing criminal investigation, and to disclose the contents of the affidavit might jeopardize the said investigation.” Judge Erik BuchΓ©r of the Circuit Court acceded to the request and granted it.

A preliminary hearing for Baynes, who resides in Hillsboro, is provisionally set for 3 o’clock in the afternoon. On the 27th of September, Tuesday

The incident took occurred around 8 o’clock on Sunday evening, September 18, in the neighborhood of a home located on Meadow View Road, according to the Forest Grove Police Department. When the cops arrived, they discovered a victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds and was subsequently pronounced dead at the site.

According to Andrew Colasurdo, a spokesperson for the police department, this is the city’s first homicide of the year.

According to Colasurdo, “Homicides are an extremely rare occurrence in Forest Grove.” “I am not familiar with the particulars, but I do know that they are uncommon.”

According to Colasurdo, Baynes was taken into custody on the 19th of September. The court documents indicate that Baynes was given a term of more than six years in prison for an event that occurred in 2007 on Highway 47, during which he lost control of his vehicle.

The car went off the road and caught flames when it crashed. Baynes and a passenger in the front seat made it out alive, but a passenger in the back seat did not survive. Baynes was found guilty of manslaughter in the second degree as well as driving under the influence of intoxicating substances.
